I am looking for Japan theme decorations to put with my snow monkeys and have found surprisingly few.

I am counting the pink cherry tree and found the little blue roof teahouse, but I can’t think of any others. It seems like there ought to be more.

There also is a surprising lack of decorations depicting things in India, apart from the Taj Mahal.

There is the gong (14500 coins) and maybe the Sea Gates (for gems) or even the floating lanterns if they even do that custom?? and the Japanese Pine that might be able to serve as Japanese...  Eastern Bazaar might serve as Indian.  Trouble is, most of us are not from those cultures so determining which is which is not easy.  These things were artistically meant to represent or invoke a feeling of the Orient perhaps in general??

I feel like most of the Japanese/Indian decorations were seasonal...but I agree, there aren't many, at least not specifically Japanese or Indian.  More like Eastern or Middle Eastern.

I agree with @Lil Bear, I can't really determine what would be specifically Japanese over what might be Chinese or Korean.  I just go, "ooh, pretty colors."

@Mic Miller  Methinks somebody does well on the Chinese New Year events to get all those fun decorations!

Wow, nice design.

Most of our Asian theme stuff came with Chinese New Year events, so I’m taking those as Chinese.  I have some of those with my pandas.

I think the First Artist statue depicts a Japanese girl, but I’m not spending a million coins for it.

When I got enough zoo animals to start thinking about an overall design for my zoo, I decided to group the animals based on the part of the world where they come from.  That’s when I started adding extra decorations to add to the feel for that region.

My original plan included putting flags from some of those countries in each area, but we know what happened to that idea.  Glad I hadn’t gotten as far as buying flag poles.

We also have a lot of generic “jungle” stuff.  I’ve put those with African animals, but I guess jungle could just as well be India or South America, or almost anywhere in the tropics, really.

I ended up just using the first two Japan decorations.  Here is the part of my zoo with the China and Japan areas.

the carp (koi) pond is available right now in the Lake House renovation temporary decor.

interestingly, the koi/pond would be traditionally considered a part of Japanese landscape/decor.  of note, the carp was introduced to Japan from China. (source - old memory trivia recall reading that while net surfing one time or another.)

I love random memory trivia! Why is it we seem to remember stuff like this but more important stuff goes in one ear and out the other without sticking?

I did already have the carp pond in my town, so I moved it into the zoo, but I had to make the land bigger. Now it looks like my zoo has a carp enclosure.

hahaha, lol, gigglesnortz... IKR!!

I think this stuck because I perceive 'koi' as beautiful... but they are aka carp... so the pond name is correct/authentic... but... should be named, imnsho, koi pond Wink
