I was wondering the same thing myself. I already got all the stars I needed for Verne's daily task; what was it? Something like 1200? I'm more curious about the traffic lights; Do I use them all and then suffer until I get 5 more? Or just continue as I have been, only using 1 at the end, then replacing that eventually, (they are pretty stingy at replacing the lights) I try not to use any more than 1 or 2 and never in the same run. I don't care about buying chests, they only give stuff we all get from planes and trains anyway.
The only time I use all my lights is at the end of the event, or close to it. It usually takes about 3 runs before they have any replacement lights or any chests free or otherwise. (there is almost never any free chests)
I feel sad that the Windows crew is so neglected when it comes to all this info "from on high." And yet my fingers are still crossed, hoping for that day when Windows will sync and be able to play with everyone else. When that happens, y'all, let me know because I will be SO THRILLED to be back with my Windows friends.

This is another way they have made this event harder. It was like this last time too. Before that event, once I got to 5 lights, I found if I used one to finish a run, I would often get one to the replace it on the very next run or the one after that. The lights are much less frequent now.
I really do not enjoy the basic play of this game. It’s basically just sitting and waiting, not so fun. I am grateful to use the lucky town to get thru any stars tasks, but I won’t play much beyond that. I don’t really need nails and the wheel seems set to give the most worthless prizes. I mean, slabs and nails? Not worth the bother.
