I was one short for a crop I needed for a train. When it was grown I know I picked 4 of them but when i went to finish loading train it still showed one short. Checked field and barn - not there either.
This happened once or twice before but I wasnt paying close attention so wasn't sure. This time I was. Annoying as heck to have to wait another few hours for it to grow again.
Now I'm wondering about getting one short when I'm pretty sure I had counted right when planting
For me, the problem wasn’t a software issue. It was mostly that I would end up using a few of the ones I already had in the barn to make something else, then come up short for the crop itself.
Haha, I did that this morning as I was waiting for corn to grow. Went around and started production and used what was stored so a 5 minute wait became a 10 minute wait, lol. How often we shoot ourselves in the foot!
I confess that I *always* (never say NEVER or ALWAYS, hmmm?) use the 2x crops bonus. So I get twice as many each time. It does happen that I will mistakenly use something to fill a heli order, but I don't think I have ever noticed one missing. And Raja--renew him for 10 days each and every time!
I set up my fields in rows of 10. Five rows of ten, a gap then three rows of ten, another gap, two rows of ten, another gap and the rest in single rows of ten. Makes it easier to plant a specific number of crops. And I always plant more than I'm going to need because inevitably I harvest a plant or two with accidental finger swipes, Frustrating when you're prepping for a task of rubber or silk.
Douglas, that sounds like a great idea! I don't have room for that, now--and don't want to give anything up. But that's a wonderful way to keep count of each one.
Mine is one huge field, but also have a very few things scattered: The farmer's wife (I know, I know--stereotyping) has a strawberry patch, as does the jam factory. There are two little ladies who have either a rubber tree or silk tree in their back yards. There are a few rubber trees next to that factory, and some fir trees near paper/furniture. Otherwise, one huge field, and altho I usually plant the same crops in the same area, it doesn't always work--and it gets sloppy.
Also, if I am trying to fill one of the Harvest Tasks, I clear as much as I possibly can, use the double bonus, and plant wheat. And reap. And plant. And reap. And repeat. Usually while I'm reading or maybe watching TV. That's a pretty quick way to harvest a lot of stuff and make headway on those tasks.
