I've been a Windows player, but my mom, who's been playing Kindle, decided to quit and I took over her lvl 103 town. I had my feed mills down to a beautiful science...but what do I do now?!? Dratted mushrooms...
How much wheat/corn/carrots/trees/rice/etc do you all plant, and how do you split up the manufacturing among the three mills?
If this has already been discussed... Sorry, a brief search didn't turn anything up.
Thanks. I'm having enough trouble with the learning curve of lvl 103 from Windows lvl 50 something. But I sure do like having all the factories and things built!
First mill: 4 pigs, 4 sheep, then I collect sheep and grow 2-4 mushrooms Second mill: 6 chicken, 2 bees Third mill: 6 cows, 2 bees
When I feed I collect from the mill and start producing for the next need. I reserve 40 fields for constant grow of wheat, corn and carrot, additional 10 is for sugar cane and cotton. The rest of the fields are always in use. Plants that grow slowly I plant over the night and collect them from market. I never collect from fields (or factories) until item is needed.

I find it simplest to have all three the same when I’m not working a feed or milk task.
I have 3 feed mills with 8 shelves. Each one has 2 cow, 2 chicken, 1 sheep, 1 pig, I bee, 1 mushroom, plus I keep 3 sheep, 3 pig, and 3 bee feeds in my barn. My barn is pretty big now so this works for me.
That way, I am always prepared to harvest all of every animal. I know that’s 1 mushroom more than needed, but it’s simpler for me not to have to stop and think which mills have mushroom and which mill has the extra sheep feed.
When working a feed task, I sometimes switch to 3 cattle in two of them, getting rid of the surplus mushroom from one and pig in another, adding a pig in the third mill.
I have also 3 feed mills with 8 shelves. First mill: 6 cows and 2 sheep Second mill: 6 chicken and 2 sheep Third mill: 2 mushroom, 4 pigs and 2 bees and 2 bees in the barn. Sometime I change in the Third mill with 4 bees and 2 pigs and 2 pigs in the barn
Ist mill...cows, keep it full of feed 2nd mill...chickens, keep it full of feed 3rd mill...sheep are the shortest harvest time so start with 4 of those, bees are next so those are the next 4. When bees show up above the mill that means the sheep are done so harvest those and add 4 pigs. When the pig shows up, bees are done so take those and make 4 more sheep, etc etc etc.
I never use mill space for mushroom medium, I buy it in the market. I also buy mushrooms when they show up. I never have an emergency demand for mushrooms as I have 2-3 of each thing that requires them and usually 6-12 shrooms in the barn at all times.
I never have dedicated fields for feed crops unless Im doing a task, they are the 4 shortest things to grow and cane and carrots are usually available in the market on short notice.
First mill: cows Second mill: chicken Third mill: sheep, bees and pigs in order of what will be needed first, second and third...
Mushroom substate: I do mostly buy it in the market. If there isn't any, I make it in cow mill or in chicken mill, depending if I have some of those in stock in my barn.

@Light of the World~Emily This is how I do it. It's Very similar to @Jaytown ~ But, We All Have Our Own System and After Trying a Blue Million Different Ways This is what works for Me
3 Feed Mills and I Keep Them Full
1st Mill ~ 6 Cow Feed with 2 Bee Feed 2nd Mill ~ 6 Chicken Feed with 2 Pig Feed 3rd Mill ~ 4 Sheep then I do 1 Bee,1 Pig & Mushroom another Cow and Bee then Repeat it all & if I don't mess it up I'll have enough to feed them all at Once!!
I Do Buy Mushroom Stuff From the Market When they have it Or while waiting for Pigs I'll Add it To the Chicken Feed Mill so it doesn't hold up the Cow Feed
FWIW: • Feed Mill 1 — cow feed on shelves and in the queue • Feed Mill 2 — chicken feed on shelves and in the queue • Feed Mill 3 — empty • Barn — 12 sheep feed, 12 bee feed, 12 pig feed, and 6 substrate • Instructions — replenish feed mills and restore feed in barn as needed to maintain status quo

Only in my dreams to have enough spare space! Sorry buddy , disagree...
@Mic Miller, actually, I like your scheme very much. Personally, I have a level 103 town, barn space 2310, so I have a wee bit of space to spare. I always have struggled with finding a feed mill combo allows me to load up, then pretty much walk away and come back to a set of feed. Storing some in my barn isn't a bad idea.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, this is great!
Then 42 is not that big of a number, @Light of the World~Emily. The beauty of this scheme is its immediate readiness and ability to immediately respond to any circumstantial feed need. (I call it an "optimal solution.")
I use a different strategy from all of you it looks like. Mill 1 -- 2 Cow, 2 Bird, 2 Sheep, 2 Bee Mill 2 -- 2 Cow, 2 Bird, 2 Bee, 2 Pig Mill 3 -- 2 Cow, 2 Bird, 2 Pig, 2 Sheep Barn -- 6 Mushroom
I have enough ready to feed anything, and find it easy to keep the feed mills churning to for the rapid feeding events.
At the end of 2 hours, I have fed 126 cows, 54 chickens, and 36 others and I have 36 cow feed ready for 2:20 and 2:40, no chicken feed needed until 3:00, and the 36 other feed I need in a couple hours. And it has been structured into alternating 20-minute and 5-minute periods so I can easily walk away for a while. The only time that I overload my (cheap) 4 production slots is at about 1:40 when I have two mills producing lots of cow feed in a row, and those are just producing excess that won't be needed for a while.
Haha! Thanks again, @Mic Miller. Hey, if you ever find room in your friends list my code is in my signature. Always on the lookout for good neighbors.
