I’m still relatively new to township, and I’ve joined a few different co-ops in the hope that they would be chatty/conversational as well as helpful. So far they’ve been silent other than those online asking for help.

Are they all silent? Am I missing something?

Hiya and welcome!
Perhaps finding a coop that matches your style/needs is best. If you like chatty, there are plenty of them! Just look around. Visit those coops from possible matches from people you meet in here...
Hello! No, not all co-ops are morosely silent. My co-op, for instance, is normally cheerful and chatty. (I say normally, since there's currently a PC glitch that has broken chat.) But you may have to try several co-ops before finding the "one" for you.
Now, there are exceptions both ways, but I have found in my experience that the lower the league of a co-op, the more likely it is to be dead. More active players naturally seem to do better in the regatta. Perhaps getting into a more competitive co-op, while it may require a little more time in the game, might get you a more active chatty group.
But the best way to find a good group is to keep trying. Perhaps some people in this forum have a co-op you could join.
douglasnorth, Calliie and Eckyba Agrees with this post

Oh okay, I’ve not done the regatta yet. Sounds interesting! Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll keep looking.
Then the other scenario is that township chat is quiet as all the Co op members are chatting on other platforms, mostly Facebook messenger. You will have to ask to find out.
But I agree with @Light of the World~Emily, non active groups tends to be quiet. Active group will be more chatty regarding the games, game info, strategy etc.

Can I ask what level are you now currently?
Yeah I didn’t realise that other methods were used until I read a few posts on here saying they used Facebook.

I’m only level 27 right now.
Our coop has no lower limits for coop member levels, but it would be far easier to play with folks near your level as people in the higher levels get much harder tasks and force up difficulty of the tasks and numbers. You would be left out of many things in regatta and RoC (Race of Champions)... Just something to think about and decide. Of course, higher level teammates can easily give you help so it is a trade-off of sorts.

Yes, I found that in a coop I joined with higher levels. I found it unfair they were helping me and I couldn’t return it, so I left and joined one my level, which is quiet, but I’ll be able to level up and join a more sociable, higher level. thanks for your help!
My co-op definitely needs a chatty and active player. I use the chat a lot but not so much replies. Let me know if you are interested. We just got our list cleaned up for inactive regatta/race players. I am an active leader, and appreciate input from members and it would be nice with someone who replies!

This sounds wonderful, I’m level 28 if that’s any good? I’d love to join if so!

We play iOS, if you do too: search my name (that is also the Coop name). If you can’t find it I will try to find you that code
