So my first town just turned 1 year old...! I have a few zoo enclosures to finish (so many building materials...my poor barn!!) but the main town has everything I want so I play around redecorating areas for the seasons. It also leads my co op and races (except for RoC).
So....I decided to start another town on my android device. Today that baby is 9 days old and level 24. Although I am trying to do things differently this time around (learn from my previous mistakes) it is still a challenge! And humbling! Barn space so limited, coins not so plenty, and space constrained. But I found a very relaxed co op who accepted me and I am actually racing this week! Lots of feeding and coin tasks. But I am almost halfway through my tasks. But the struggle is real!
What would you do differently if you started over?
I did start over voluntarily several months ago. My Windows town was level 74 and the game was boring (this was before I discovered "hopping", RIP). So I deleted my town and started a new one,
I did not open the zoo the second time around, it was too much of a hassle and used up a lot of resources, and I lost it once and that was enough.
I didn't worry about decorations or buying factories immediately, Concentrated on CB's, houses and fields. Upgraded trains ASAP. Reconnected with old friends as soon as I could.
I'm enjoying the game much more, even without hopping.
But, everybody has to determine what their priorities are and play the game accordingly.
Doug Windows, level 64
P.S. Find a co-op that fits your style. If the co-op changes, find a new one.
I will be starting my second town soon ready for Professor Verne
I don't know if I will invest in it much atm, my priority is getting it to a level that it can join my co-op. If I do get serious with it, what will I do differently?
I will value my time more and not watch constant adverts if I get the opportunity. I prided myself on not spending real money, I don't know why I missed out on offers and decorations from the fear of losing my ads. Yet I treat myself to the Prof Verne Gold Pass last time and losing the regular adverts was liberating!
I am careful with my tcash anyway, but now I think why not buy the odd offer to top it up and maybe get a cute deco with it. My time spent watching so many adverts is worth spending a few pounds every couple of months instead, and it is nice not missing out on things I want
I wish I hadn't passed up the opportunity of some of the decorations in the yacht club. It is strange but later on that decoration you didn't want would suddenly be ideal for a new area you have created in your town.
I would get a good in game friends list sorted asap. It really makes a huge difference to my gameplay.
Definitely I would get my trains upgraded quicker this time. I will still probably start my zoo as soon as I can open it, but I will pick an enclosure to work on as and when it suits me
I will plan the layout of my town now that I understand how the game works and make it much more organized early on.
I will not waste my factory upgrades on XP early on. Instead I will invest in coins alternately from time and extra shelves. Save the XP for later.
That is about it right now. It will be interesting to see how I feel about it when I actually start it
Well, my regret was spending time in a Co op that does not collect all the chests when I did all the tasks with points of at least 125. Start in a Co op with most people at lvl 19. Then progress with them.
Well I just ordered my kindle, I was waiting for a good Black Friday deal and I got one! Downside is it will only arrive about the same time Prof Verne starts. It should be easy to level it up to level 19 quickly I hope!
Anyway I am glad I dragged my feet as I almost bought it for full price a few weeks ago
I might have held off longer on the zoo...but I just saw that Verne wants zoo tasks the first week, so I broke down and repaired the zoo. Enclosures can wait. I envision lots and lots of homeless zoo animals in my new town’s future...
I have not built the foundry yet so have not tackled upgrades. I must say, for my first town I focused exclusively on xp and time. I had no upgrades for coins. Coins did not really sort themselves out until I got closer to level 100 and since then they have not really been an issue. So I have not totally decided what to do. I guess since there is no real rush to level up the new town, I will do some upgrades for coins.
I am behind on factories. That stressed me out for the first town. For the new town, I was offered a 90% off package of 280tc for $0.99. It might have also had a couple ingots and something else, I forget. But I used a lot of that tcash to buy market boxes...which are affordable to begin with. So that really helped out my heli orders. I know Raja charges a premium but when you do not have the factories built, it means a lot less heli to delete. I am also getting products from rev and ride that I cannot produce.
I wish this town got happy times. I have a lot of achievements waiting....I would love to get 1.5x xp.
Starting another town on Mac creates its own problems. I had one on the iPad and one on the Macbook Air, both different towns but Playrix got confused as it was the same icloud account and deleted my highest one. Finally got it sorted but wary of opening another town unless it is on an android or windows. Faros
