Does anyone have any issues with a member that takes a relay before preparing and ends up sitting on it for more than 24 hrs? We have at least 3 people waiting to complete that have the item ready. Anything we can do about it?
I once was leader of a large coop and some members just didn‘t know that the given time is not only for them, but for the whole task. So at first I would make sure that everybody understands the nature of a relay task and hope that‘d settle the problem.
Yes, I agree, which is what we did and explained how these relay tasks are great for the team. But unfortunately, you have that few that do not read the message board.

Send a message to all of your members from the co-op building outbox. Make a list of rules all members are expected to abide by during relay season. Add that any members who do not follow the rules which will negatively impact the rest of the team will be restricted the following week of relay racing and if necessary will be expected to sit out future relay seasons.
I remember the arguments of a larger co op very well. We (myself & Co Leaders) had to be really strict with reservation timings & the consequences of anyone nicking the task. To be really frank, they caused a lot more bother than they were worth. The Co op is a small one now & we enjoy the regattas so much more that way. Good luck, it can be a bit of a minefield. 🤯
Minefield, yes indeed! I became so fedup with it that I went solo, after some of the really nice members stopped playing. Now I just cancel the relays.

We usually have four racers. I sat out this week so my team could delete all relays and minimize drama. Haven’t decided if I am going to sit out another week. I try to do what seems best for the team. Hard to be leader at times.
