Question:
If a Co-Leader opts out of racing do they still have the liberty of dumping tasks from the task board?

Thanks

No, only those racing and promoted to elder or above can dump

@Boys It says you are Android like me.  The next race is Race of Champions.  Just opt out anytime before it starts or stay in and do just one task to get on the board and collect the coins if you need those.  No penalties if you do not bother at all...

https://township.fandom.com/wiki/Race_of_Champions

Edit: See below...  Mayfield is correct about other players being affected.

If there are other players in your coop who do want to participate in ROC, you really need to opt out before it starts. The quantities their tasks will have are determined by the number of racers. If you are a solo coop, of course, then it doesn't matter.

I don't know how long it takes from the moment we opt out out for that info to synch across all the relevant servers. Long time players on the old forum use to recommend opting in or out at least an hour before the start to be safe. I don't know if that much cushion is really needed or how long it takes the TS servers to prepare and launch the event. Probably a lot less.

The decision to opt-in or -out is properly done between the end of a regatta/RoC and the beginning of a regatta/RoC. Since global players start together the race-break window is a 24-hour period that straddles two calendar days: Monday and Tuesday.

Opting out or in seems pretty rapid, maybe a minute or less... we had a player opt in a couple times moments before, so we didn't have time to restrict... then not play (intentional sabotage.)

I am West Coast US and there is a bit of a speed/time lag between Playrix servers and my European coopmates when doing the ROC  tasks. F. ex., 75 ore... we are all mining, and it shows the little counter/banner on right side showing we need several more ore, and suddenly it's gone... when I go to race, the task refresh is say 30 seconds countdown instead of a minute... so the 'round the world lag' - can be 1/2 minute or longer.

also, a person can opt out anytime during the week... does not impact current race; impacts next race... (so do not need to wait until Monday to opt in or out, but must opt in before race starts to participate, which seems to be moments before cutoff/start time, in my experience.)

@Mayfield   We just finished ROC in my co-op. There has never been anymore than the 2 of us and we are always up against full co-ops or at least a lot more than 2.  616 roses (that was a timed one), others like almost a dozen pairs of shoes,  producing items from factories neither of us have yet. Plus some easier ones like sending 20 some helos or 14 trains.  Feed a few K animals; several hundred at a time. 12 blue feathers, 38 scallops. etc.

I think if we race in regatta we do need to wait for Monday to opt out of the next one. Iirc if we opt out (or get booted) before regatta ends, then we will lose the reward chests for that race. At least, I think remember discussions about that in the old forum.

you can opt out anytime during the week - it does not impact current race, just the next race. F. ex., if a person 'opts out' on Wed, they can still finish current race and collect rewards when the race ends.  Have done this mid-week prior to Monday several times when I knew I would be unable to race the next race. And on flip side, can turn on participation for next week anytime as well. Don't have to wait until Monday to flip the switch.

Agree about Restricting  (or kicking) which is different - stops participation in current/future races so can not finish current race and can not get rewards at end.... *i think* - from what I have read... I have only seen the restrict on Mondays, and kicking once or so mid-race.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.  I didn't know the two were treated differently.

@just4fun

I don't understand... do you mean just RoC or regatta? In the regatta you compete with coops that have the same number of members as yours. If I drop out of the regatta in the middle, wouldn't that put my coop on unequal terms?

It seems you can "opt out" at anytime you want to-BUT-it doesn't take effect until after midnight on Sunday.  If you change your mind and want to participate, then you have until Monday at midnight to opt back in.

yes, held our breath 1st time we tried mid-week opt out for the NEXT Regatta race. F. ex., if you opt out on Thursday, you continue to show as active/racing for current race, you continue to participate in current race and collect reward chests at the end. After race ends Sunday night, the mark changes to 'not racing'.   At that point, you can still switch it (opt in or out) until the next race starts Mon night.

Team matchups are based on number racing for both regatta and ROC.   We have 2 in our coop doing ROC...  and all the teams in our group have 2 members marked as racing (with the ships wheel next to their name.)
-- this is a change from the 'interseasonal' when everyone could work on the chests and did not need to opt in.

observation on what people can see if they opt out...
-- For regatta, people can see placement results (but not the task board or who did how many tasks.)

-- for ROC, people who opted out can NOT see anything; not tasks nor placement/results even.  I had to ask how they did the time I did not do the ROC.
