I just completed building my last factory & community building today. Hooray! Obviously, I’ll continue hoarding a good number of materials for when a new building is released but I’m enlightened that I don’t have to, for the time being, focus on making gold to dump on factories and buildings. I can finally save gold to start decorating my town!
I have a question for the higher level players as to what they prioritize after they’ve completed all buildings. I’ve started focusing on upgrading my factories since I have roughly 2-3k of each ore type. So far I’ve got 3/4 of my factories to 40% Exp and 2 extra slots. Is it wiser to cap Exp first? I figured at higher levels gold isn’t an issue so getting more exp from orders seems to be the more logical choice. I don’t think my 2/3k of each ore type left over is going to allow me to fully cap all my factories so I Wana try and use them up wisely-
Another question I have is did many of you higher levels find it easier to prioritize your zoo after you’ve completed all factories and Cbuildings. So far I’ve been neglecting it hardcore due to gold and material costs. Should I now treat the zoo enclosures like I did community buildings and factories and hoard materials and gold as such to build them all? Or do some of you still not care about your zoo..
I didn't even build the zoo until after all my buildings and factories are done. I have it but I don't make it a priority. I don't fill zoo orders unless needed for a task unless it is one that I can replace the items quickly/easily (like bread or milk).
As for the enclosures in the zoo, I don't worry about the supplies until I know which enclosure I will get. Then I will start collecting and dumping all the supplies I don't need if I'm running low on barn space.
As for the factories, I'm hit or miss as to what I upgrade on them. I focus on the factories that I use the most and I still go for upgrading coin or shelves. I like having millions of coins and there aren't the rewards for leveling up so XP isn't a priority. When it happens, it happens.
After I completed all of my community buildings I found the zoo a very fun and rewarding place to focus my attention. I started by doing all of the land expansions and doing a master redesign. It was kind of a "Township Retirement" project
Afte the zoo (and with all the ore from the last couple of Ore Galores) I started upgrading my factories systematically. I already had the most used ones up to 50% time reduction so one by one I started upgrading the others. My strategy is to get everything to Level 11 (+2 shelves) and then just move each up one by one to fully upgraded.
I always alternate between upgrading time reduction and bonus gold coins. I don't care about XP points, never have... I'm always curious why a player would prefer XP over coins or time reduction. Would love to know your thoughts on it @Thruve!
I too have concentrated on upgrading for coins rather than xp as the 'filler' between time upgrades. However, once I've planted the last few facs will probably upgrade xp to make levelling up faster
Why does anyone want to Level up faster at that point? One you reach the last available cb and factory, there is no game benefit to going any higher. In fact, all you would be doing is making some regatta (and some Professor) tasks harder for you.
This my subjective opinion but I figured that the ultimate competition in the end is our towns level. Once you’ve completed all the town buildings and factories, all your left with is completing all your land expansions and decorating. Yes, you can win 1st in the regata and events and earn rewards and deco that others won’t and you can display them as status. Yes, you can compete for the most points in sending airplanes and the like, but ultimately in the end.. your town level says it all. It symbolizes how long you’ve played, etc. I did level up time reduction for production along with EXP for my factories, but me knowing gold will not be an issue in the near future, I decided not to level points in it at all. I do have more EXP allotted for factories than time reduction though. I guess time reduction would be paramount for the other competitive aspects of the game, regattas, events, etc. I’ll guess I’ll start focusing time reduction at this point.
There came a point in factory upgrades when I asked myself what has the greater meaning of achievement: Level 300 or 300 million coins? I concentrated on maximizing my XP upgrades and am now finishing with the coin upgrades. FWIW
Please remember: my present is your future. Or, if you prefer: your future is my present. Ommm.
... I guess time reduction would be paramount for the other competitive aspects of the game, regattas, events, etc. ...
I don't think the main reason is for any competition, but for using our ingame time for as many things / actions as you can, simply cos more happens in that time, when everything returns faster or is delivered faster. That can be still fun, even when all is built. Levelling up just to see me closer to the long time players...? no, what for? the ppl are the main interesting aspect, IMO
In the old forum the recommendation was to reduce time first (whenever you can), and I followed that, and am happy with it. My factories are fully upgraded for time (lvl 27 IIRC), my islands are fully upgraded, and my zoo is still on hold, as it consists only of collecting TONS of materials for the enclosures anymore (the last 20 animals sitting in the book, couldn't hinder winning them), soo boring, and I need my barn for other things, like helping :-D
+ lol again, Mic! your competitive 'vein' goes so well together with your zen tone
