The zoo is still my favourite area in Township. Although the shops are no longer functional, I keep them out to create areas for the visitors to get a bite to eat
I started working on my zoo as soon as it became available, mainly driven by wanting the trees that only unlocked when you reached certain levels. It is still pretty much the same for players with the newer zoo. Only now decorations become available once the players collects so many animals
Here's a few pictures of what I like to think of as an animal sanctuary
I am so pleased I got most of the zoo done before the changes were made. I definitely enjoyed working on it more when it wasn't animal cards. Also I found the building materials easier with the old zoo. The amount you need for the enclosures now is insane
I take the pic usually in edit mode. Then in my pics gallery on my tablet I zoom in on the picture until the info has moved off the screen and then take another screen shot of it
Downton - Love your zoo, of course! I mean... animal sanctuary I think if I were an animal I'd be happy there. Lots of beautiful trees! I also use the blue trees in my arctic section. I remember when those came out I thought they were hideous and the strangest color blue. But when I realized they fit perfectly into my arctic area of the zoo, I had a little spending spree
Gary - very nice and organized, appealing to the eye! And I love the little pond with the swan boats. I am a big fan of those and have them in my zoo too I imagine all the kids riding from one section of the zoo to another on the paddle boats because most of my zoo is sectioned off by water.
I think that's how I'd make a real zoo to keep all the enclosures confined by natural features
I recently finished all zoo expansions and did an overhaul of my zoo design. I spent about 2.5M coins to do it, but I am pretty happy with it now! BUT - all of a sudden I got the new blossoming boulevards fencing and gate so I am going to have to spend a little time redecorating and then I can post some pics. All of my zoo collections have some sort of fencing around the enclosures so I will have to work in the new fencing somehow.
I made a panorama of my zoo! I hope you guys like it. I had so much fun on my zoo shopping spree after my zoo expansion shopping spree ($$$$$). This has given me such a fun project in "retirement".
My idea for my zoo was to separate the animals by type and have each type have a unique fence and pathway. Water separates the types and I like to think my visitors have free access to the boats around the zoo to cruise from one spot to another The blossoming boulevards event was the key to my last little area having unique fencing! The cute but stinky little skunks really needed to be surrounded by lots of flowers!
On my jungle island I was happy to find a new home for some of my favorite island decor that was pushed into storage as my regular town grew! I know a lot of people hate the "new" zoo but I am here to tell you... keep at it. It's very rewarding and fun once you get to the end (if you like decor).

I love your thought process to designing it too. It's such a colourful happy place you have made
Lol! At your skunks and the new fencing
I completely agree with you, the zoo is a fantastic area to unleash our creativity and gives us more space to use our beloved decorations. Well worth the effort in my view
