It’s a happy day, and a sad day. Our daughter’s 2 oldest children “officially” graduate from high school tonight. We will go to the drive in theater and watch the video that they put together. Not exactly the graduation that they worked so hard for, but they understand and are concentrating on college now. We are so proud of both of them, but, they are also making me feel old!
Despite it not being the graduation anticipated due to the dreaded Covid 19, it will be an important day to remember in the future. Maybe even more significant as the memory will include it's occurrence during such an epic moment in history.
I understand the tinge of sadness for you. I can only imagine how it must feel for your children, then grandchildren to reach these moments. Times a funny thing, I find the older I get the quicker it seems to go
I hope you and your family have a lovely night watching it
Congratulations to them both. Unfortunately these sad times are dampening everything. But I agree with Downton, they will more significant and a moment in history. Something they will be able to tell their children and grandchildren as they in turn graduate. Enjoy your evening, the closeness and family love cannot be downed by Covid. Bless you all
I told my neighbor's kids (1 high school, 2 college) that were graduating this year... they will have an experience that no one else will have. And, if things don't go back to the normal we've always known, they will be the ones to say "we did it first".
To the college graduates, I told them I didn't even go to my college graduation ceremonies. I went to a pool party instead. Back in the dark ages when I graduated, you had to pay to graduate and didn't even get your diploma during the ceremony. It came a couple weeks later in the mail after verifying that all requirements for graduation were met. Back in those days, computers were not what we have today so some manual verification was required
Congratulations to your daughter and her first two graduates. Big, big, tremendous night tonight. Nothing can lessen the meaning of this milestone event. Be proud, Gracie. You done good. In a way you are graduating also, grandma, to a new chapter as you watch your grandchildren take off in their own directions. Enjoy the shows!
It was definitely a night to remember! The video was nice and very well put together and I was one proud Grandma. But, I pray that this is not the new normal. Maybe it is just me. Getting old and set in my ways. I know that the school faculty worked very hard to make it memorable for the seniors. Three more years until the next one graduates. Daughter has 5 kids!
