I don't know what it is, but I find it incredibly annoying when I go through my list of people who need help, and 80% ask for things, from the zoo, that take days to produce. 7 plastic roll things takes a long time to produce. Yes, it's true I might have them on hand. I know other players at higher levels might have them on hand. But I don't generally ever have that many, even when I've been stocking up. 4 maybe. I had several of these requests today and yesterday. Some for large amounts of recycled plastics, those rolls and I forget the other thing, but it was also very time consuming.
I don't mind making 9 bread for someone, though I wouldn't have 9 bread on hand either. But I can make 9 bread in a, somewhat, sensible amount of time. But 7 of those things is a big request. And 7 corn chips is kinda high too, though I would be more likely to have those, since corn is a fast growing crop.
It's one thing too ask for those for the plane. I expect those to be high because they often are, and people don't choose what they get from the plane so asking for 3 of whatever's there makes sense. But with the zoo orders, I'm of the opinion that the big ones should be done by the person who has the zoo, and they should ask for smaller things from their neighbors. Unless, they just don't want anyone to fill their request.
And that's the part that frustrates me. I would like to help out my neighbors with their requests (my attitude has changed on this a bit from earlier in the game). But it's pretty hard to do that when everyone has a request for the most time consuming things, from their zoo, that they can find. Are people just going through and only asking for the hard things they don't want to do? Is that how other people treat that part of the game, because I don't do that at all. I do the hard ones myself and ask for the easy half from other people. And other people have always filled them. But some of my neighbors are posting the same hard order, day after day after day.
On my train, if I ask for a table or a suit or a bed (which I rarely do, but sometimes it's necessary) it, almost never, gets filled, and I do it myself. So then, who's filling these zoo orders for 7 rolls of plastic? idk
Friends can be replaced for better players if you have stats that command respect and garner interest. I have world-class friends, even found some on Find Friends. Also have a group of lower-level go getters. All my friends are active, helpful, located everywhere and get/like the side games I play with them. We have productive fun and push one another.
Have experienced the same thing. Had a player that had a request for 6 bagels, and it was there for 2-3 days. The player could have made them themselves in that amount of time. I mostly ignore large requests that are frequently asked for by the same players. Have no problem filling requests for a few items. I fill my own large orders and only ask for help on small amounts. To me it is just common courtesy.
So, I had this friend once who asked for something really hard. Probably bagels like Gracie. As the days passed I became more and more incensed having to see that request every time I checked the tab for friends needing help. Ohhhh! Its still there!
Till one fine day I flashed over like the Incredible Hulk and deleted that friend from my friend's list. It felt good!
I have just one friend that does this. Every request made is for a large zoo order. I ignore them, as I do with a lot of zoo orders, I don’t even do my own lol. I will help anyone, and I’m lucky to have a large enough barn now to carry plenty of stock, Trains and planes I can always do, and that makes me feel good.
I'm also happy to help with trains and planes, and sometimes the zoo. But not with those huge orders. I barely tolerate doing my own, so I don't want to do other people's.
I'm thinking a slight overhaul on my friend list is the right thing . I have several neighbors who are active, helpful and sensible with their requests, but the few that sit on my help tab, with huge orders no one is filling, maybe I'll drop them and add more active players.
I play, somewhat, causually, so I don't want to be a neighbor snob, but I've got to the level, now, where I'd prefer all my neighbors be, at least, as active as myself.

I do this regularly. I keep a chart. About once a month I go to everyone's Town Hall to see if the items I track have increased at all. I delete people who seem to have abandoned their game for more than a couple months - I'm pretty casual so any activity at all will probably keep you on my list :-).
I do the same, I have pretty active players on my lists. I don’t do FB so am limited to 50 friends, so having so few I can usually notice if someone hasn’t played for a while, then I will check their factories to see if any are active. If none are I will delete. There’s always someone waiting in the wings to fill that place.
Well, I help everyone that ask if I have the stuff. I don`t ask myself why they are asking and if they could do it by themselves . For friends or co-op members I even use dealer. When I start to play I ask a lot, but now I mostly have all I need. But when I ask I get help in a few minutes, my friends list and co.op memebers are quite active. Sometimes I`m surprised when they ask for corn or wheat , but I suppose they have barn problem. So I raise what they need. It`s fun.

I do exactly the same, if someone needs & I have it, it’s theirs. Just the way I’ve always played & in return, I generally find that I wait no more than a few minutes for a request to be filled. Luckily all of my friends seem to be as active as me.

That the way I play as well. I don’t need to know why they are asking, it doesn’t matter. I woukd think it’s a choice of two anyway, one they haven’t got it Or two they like friends to get clovers. It’s rare that I need to ask for anything I’m lucky enough to have a large barn. But.. I will ask just so friends can earn clovers. I will also give anything I have to others, even if it takes my last one. I an always make another. The game is about bringing us together, and this is just one way it does it.
