I was playing another game and a "watch video" popped up. I watched the video, it was a a red truck on a road, with a burning log in front of it. You had to pick a can of water or a hook to pick up the log. After the video, it said "Download TOWNSHIP". It this connected to our normal Playrix game. Thanks
Those videos are made by a third party to advertise many games. Unfortunately they don’t show actual gameplay for any of the games the6 are advertising. However when the download is clicked it will take you to the App Store to download the actual game it is advertising. There have been lots of complaints via the reviews of games, but it seems nothing is being done. It is blatant false advertising, but I’m guessing they will still attract a certain amount of players, due to the fact, once downloaded players will at least try the game, and a few will get hooked lol
Thank you, I thought there may have been a different version of Township, or a game to be played on another device. It definitely is false advertising. Many thanks Cuddz
I'm sorry, Cuddz, but it is not a third-party that creates and publish these strange videos. There is at least one video on Playrix's home FB page that shows the joy our Devs have while they show their 'strange' creations.
No need to be sorry Ruud, But didn’t Playrix say they had no control over the ads and they were dealt with by a third party Surely if Playrix were falsely advertising, they would be open to all sorts of legal problems. But it’s a strange world for gaming... so I am the one that should be sorry for getting it wrong
ETA...I think Twilight found an article regarding the ads way back, I wonder if it’s still available.
From what I've read, those scenarios which appear on the ads do actually happen for new players. If you start a new town, I think in the heli window, you get a guy who asks you to put a fire out, and you receive T-cash for doing it.

Interesting...
I've seen those ads, too, and I'm always kind of weirded out by the fact that none of that actually happens in the game, and yet it is such a huge part of the ad!
However, something similar HAS happened in a side game on the mobile platform...does anyone else remember the mini-game thing where you had to chop down trees and find other people or something? Sorry for the vague description...I wasn't on much that week so didn't play it much. It may have been called "Rescue Mission" or something...
But anyway, you had to drag a little ax to cut down trees, etc. That type of thing also happens in a much different way during Hammer Time...when renovating the room.
Oh, yes, and @JJay, if those scenarios happen for new players, it doesn't happen on Windows--I started a Windows town about three (?) months ago and none of that happened.
